Small team. Enterprise problems.
Three structural pressures every mid-market legal team is feeling — without the budget enterprises have.
Understaffed — 1-3 lawyers handling everything
Mid-market legal teams are stretched across contracts, compliance, employment, IP, and corporate governance. There is no dedicated contract review team. Every MSA competes with everything else.
Outsourced — $200-500/hr for routine reviews
When your lean team cannot keep up, routine MSA reviews go to outside counsel. At $200-500 per hour, a single 80-page MSA review can cost $4,000-15,000. Multiply by 30+ contracts per quarter.
Inconsistent — different reviewer, different result
Without standardized review processes, the same contract type gets reviewed differently depending on who has capacity. No playbook. No classification system. No audit trail.
30 hours → 30 minutes. No extra headcount.
Three mid-market problems. One accelerator.
Too many contracts, too few lawyers
Your 1-3 lawyers handle everything. An 80-page MSA takes 20-30 hours to review manually — that is an entire week for one person. Paralegent AI completes the same analysis in 2-8 minutes with 18+ agents. Your lawyers review the findings, not the raw contract.

Spending enterprise money on routine work
Every MSA sent to outside counsel costs $4,000-15,000 at $200-500/hr. Paralegent AI keeps routine review in-house. 18+ agents do the first-pass analysis. Your lawyers handle RED findings. Outside counsel is reserved for complex deals and litigation.

No formal review process
Mid-market teams rarely have documented contract standards. Every reviewer applies their own judgment. Paralegent AI changes this — your team builds a playbook with 80-150 structured terms, GREEN/ORANGE/RED thresholds, and rationale. Every contract reviewed the same way, every time.

When your mid-market team deploys Paralegent AI.
Five visible changes for the legal team, the CFO, and the next investor / acquirer / enterprise customer.
- Outside counsel spend drops immediately. Routine MSA review stays in-house. 18+ AI agents handle the first-pass analysis. Reserve outside counsel for complex matters that justify $200-500/hr rates.
- Your 1-3 lawyers operate like a team of 10. Contract review goes from 20-30 hours to 2-8 minutes. Your small team processes the same volume as legal departments five times their size.
- You establish real contract standards. The playbook captures your preferred positions across 80-150 terms. GREEN/ORANGE/RED classification. Rationale and examples. Institutional knowledge documented for the first time.
- SLA bottleneck disappears. Contract turnaround from 15 days → 2 days. Business teams stop waiting. Deals close faster. Legal becomes an enabler.
- You are enterprise-ready before you are enterprise-sized. When investors, acquirers, or enterprise customers ask about your contract review process, you show them a system with audit trails, classification, and consistent standards.
In short. Paralegent AI for mid-market — 18+ agents, 30 hours → 30 minutes, enterprise standards without enterprise headcount.

Frequently asked questions
Is Paralegent AI affordable for mid-market companies?
Paralegent AI is a one-time deployment — not a recurring SaaS subscription. You get 18+ AI agents deployed in your own cloud. No per-seat fees, no per-document charges. The cost is a fraction of one additional in-house hire.
We only have 1-3 lawyers. Will this actually help?
That is exactly the scenario Paralegent AI was built for. Your small legal team is stretched across everything — contracts, compliance, employment, IP. Paralegent AI handles the repetitive clause-matching in 2-8 minutes, freeing your lawyers for judgment calls and negotiation.
How is this different from enterprise legal AI tools?
Enterprise tools like Kira or Luminance require massive budgets, long implementations, and dedicated legal ops teams. Paralegent AI deploys in 8-10 weeks with a dedicated pod of 3-4 engineers. No legal ops team needed. Same 18+ agents, same GREEN/ORANGE/RED classification.
Can we use our existing Microsoft Word workflow?
Yes. Paralegent AI works inside Microsoft Word as a native add-in. Your lawyers click "Review Contract" in the sidebar. Findings appear as Word comments. Accept, modify, or reject. If they can use track changes, they can use Paralegent AI.
What contract types does it handle?
Master Service Agreements, Master Sales Agreements, Master Purchase Agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, employment contracts — any contract type your playbook covers. Each playbook carries 80-150 structured terms with GREEN/ORANGE/RED thresholds.
We rely heavily on outside counsel. Can this reduce that spend?
Yes. Routine contract review stays in-house with 18+ AI agents handling the first-pass analysis. Your 1-3 lawyers focus on the RED findings that need human judgment. Outside counsel is reserved for complex litigation and specialized matters.
How does the data sovereignty work?
Paralegent AI deploys in your own Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Your contracts never leave your environment. You use your own LLM accounts. Zero data on Paralegent servers. No shared infrastructure. Data sovereignty by architecture, not by policy.
What if we outgrow it?
Paralegent AI scales with you. Add more playbooks as contract types grow. The 18+ agents handle increased volume without additional licensing. When you grow from mid-market to enterprise, the same deployment scales.
How long does implementation take?
8-10 weeks with a dedicated pod of 3-4 engineers. Weeks 1-2: playbook design with your legal team. Weeks 3-4: cloud deployment. Weeks 5-6: Word Add-in integration. Weeks 7-8: testing with real contracts. Weeks 9-10: team training and go-live.
Do we need a legal operations team to manage it?
No. That is the point. Mid-market companies rarely have dedicated legal ops. Paralegent AI is managed through a dashboard — playbook versioning, analytics, audit trails. Your existing legal team manages it alongside their daily work.
